On October 31st, students will participate in a school parade around the neighborhood to show off their costumes. This event will last from 8:45-9:30am and parents are invited to watch. Cider and treats will be provided by the PTA. Classes will also be holding their own activities throughout the day. All students are welcome to wear costumes so long as they do not include fake blood, masks, play weapons, or other items that would distract during class time.

Fall Fest

Hyde-Addison’s annual Fall Fest is November 4th from 1-5pm  It's that time of the year again for family and friends to join together for some Fall Seasonal fun.  The Hyde-Addison playground will be the place to be for food, fun and a scary good time!  Wear your best costumes (adults too) and be ready to enjoy one of Hyde's Best Fundraising events!  Volunteers are always greatly appreciated.  Please contact Leah Anderson via email at landerson0721@gmail.com or sign-up at http://www.signupgenius.com/go/409084aaaa82ba57-hyde2

Parent Chaperones

DCPS Policy requires any adult who wishes to chaperone a school field trip submit a Volunteer Clearance letter to their school’s main office. This policy will be going into effect at Hyde on November 1st. If you would like to chaperone field trips, please visit the following site for more information: https://dcps.dc.gov/node/993302

The Great Envelope Race

The 4th annual “Great Envelope Race” is a fundraising effort that last year drew over 332 participants and raised over $18,000 to support our school. This year’s effort, with the theme of “110 years and counting,” will include class prizes -- a cooking class (First), a gardening-related workshop (Second) and a popsicle party (Third).  The PTA will spend over $500 per child by the end of this year and the recommended early donation of $300 per child will help. Still, every donation of at least $1 counts, and we are aiming for 100% participation. Please make an online donation using this link: http://www.hydeaddisondc.org/great-envelope-race

So far we’re raised $10,000 out of our $20,000 goal! See below for the status of your student’s morning class in the class race. (Donations Received/Students in Class)
