The 4th annual “Great Envelope Race” is a our first big fundraising effort of the school year! Last year we drew over 332 participants and raised over $18,000 to support our school!
This year’s effort, with the theme of “110 years and Counting,” will include class prizes —1st Prize: a cooking class, 2nd Prize: a gardening-related workshop, and Third Prize: a popsicle party. The PTA will spend over $500 per child by the end of this year and the recommended early donation is $300 per child will help. Still, every donation of at least $1 counts, and we are aiming for 100% participation.
Contributions will help to pay for the following:
- School programming
- Professional development
- Books for classrooms and the school library
- School beautification
- Curricular enhancements and technology upgrades
- Subsidize the PTA’s scholarship fund (a fund that covers student activity fees, books and enrichment programs for Hyde students in need).
- Other needed programs and opportunities for children in our school community
