The After Care Program operates from 3:25-6:00pm on school days.

Our staff includes: Sports & Games Coordinator, Curtis Alexander (Mr. C.), Alba Vasquez, Pre-Kindergarten Assistant Teacher and Arts & Crafts Specialist, Joshua Vasquez, Militezegga Tecle, and Marie Connolly.

No After Care is offered on half days, holidays, and parent teacher conferences. When District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS) closes early, so does After Care. The After Care staff will call you to pick up your child/ren when DCPS closes early.

Hyde-Addison After Care is a PTA sponsored program. After Care provides a daily snack, supervised homework, and monitors activity on the playground. If the weather permits, we participate in outdoor activities. In inclement weather, we utilize a wide variety of board games and arts & craft projects and activities.

Times of Operation and Late Fee

The After Care program runs from 3:25-6:00pm on school days.

After 6:00pm, a late fee of $1 per minute is due immediately to the After Care staff. If you are running late, please call Mr. C at the After Care hotline at (202) 420-8347.

Sign-out Procedure

Mandatory: Students must be signed out daily by the parent, guardian or authorized adult over the age of 18.

If someone not listed on the authorized pick-up sheet will pick up your child, please do one of the following:

  • Write a note and leave it with your child’s teacher or send an email providing the day and time of pick-up, and name of responsible person.

  • Call the After Care line at (202) 420-8347 and speak with Mr. C or leave a detailed message.

Registration/Program Fee

One time program fee is due at registration each school year per child. The fee includes access to after care and before care.

$100 for the first child attending; $50 per additional child

After Care Tuition

1st child 5-day  $270 per month

2nd child 5-day $245 per month

3rd child 5-day $215 per month


1st child 3-day $185 per month

2nd child 3-day $165 per month

3rd  child 3-day $150 per month

Drop In Fee: $30.00 per day, additional child $20 per day.

Tuition is due and payable on the first of each month. After a 7-day grace period, a late fee of $25 will be assessed to the total tuition payment. If tuition is not paid by the 15th, your child will not be allowed to attend the program. If the tuition payment is late three or more times, your child may be removed from the program. Tuition is not prorated for vacation days, closed school days, or any days when student is absent.

We are switching to an online system. Please fill out attached payment form. We will be accepting credit cards and check payments online. See attached form. We accept credit card and check payments for drop-ins.

Tax Benefits

Your payments may be used as dependent care expenses. They may not be deducted as charitable contributions. Please consult a tax professional for more details.

Financial Assistance

Hyde PTA provides a limited amount of financial aid to qualifying families based on verification of current income. We take applications and grant aid on a first-come, first-served basis. Previous acceptance does not guarantee this year’s acceptance. Please contact Mr. C for more details.
