Meet Principal Elizabeth Namba
Welcome to Hyde-Addison Elementary School! Thank you for visiting our web site. We are a diverse, inclusive community dedicated to educating curious, lifelong learners. Our teachers, staff, and families are all deeply invested in ensuring every child grows academically, emotionally, and socially at or beyond grade level.
I believe I have one of the best jobs in DC as principal of a vibrant and thriving DCPS elementary school. We are located in a quiet neighborhood in a dynamic city, buzzing with out-of-the-classroom learning opportunities. And more importantly, our staff, students, and families genuinely care for and support one another to be their best selves, both in the classroom and beyond.
We are fortunate in so many ways. We find joy and laughter together each day and we push one another to grow. We set the bar high for our children and help them to develop as students, individuals, and members of the school community. We also set high expectations for our teachers and support their professional growth. I couldn’t be prouder of this community.
By believing in our children, our teachers, and our staff, we know that we can accomplish great things. This was evidenced in the vision, mission, and core values that our community recently developed together. I invite you to read more about this here, and I share our core values below because they speak volumes about the principles and integrity of Hyde-Addison:
We’re so pleased you are joining us on this web site. Please use it as a resource for connecting with our community and learning what we all can do—together—to help our children flourish.
